The Year 10 SJBC Food Technology students spent a morning at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant in Kingston, where the very talented chefs showed them how to make authentic Italian cuisine with the finest ingredients.
The group all got involved in making some fresh pasta, and were then given a spread of beautiful breads, parmesan and pasta dishes to try. This was followed by a tutorial in focaccia bread making where the group learnt the importance of kneading bread with quality olive oil when working with a softer dough. The staff then explained the processes for the preserving and curing of Prosciutto.
The year 10’s had an exciting insight into how Jamie Oliver runs his global brand of restaurants and the group experienced new and creative tasty Italian food.
