To celebrate World Book Day the whole school today put down calculators, science workbooks and PE equipment in order to take part in a whole school read. (Pictured, Mr Gichuhi and class), All years read a short story and then had an opportunity to talk about other good books they have read. There was lots of enthusiasm and positive engagement.
All students were allowed to keep the book they had read and encouraged to pass it on to someone else to share the joy of reading. At the end of the day each student received a book token so that they could purchase further books with a discount.
Reading is the key to success - that is why we prioritise this in school and encourage students to read widely at home.
