Match Report courtesy of Mr Bradford, Director of Rugby: The 1st team arrived as underdogs to Rutlish after failing to beat them in their previous two meets. But with that in mind and led by their talented captain, Shemar, the boys went out strong in the first half. Despite going 5-0 down in the first 10 minutes it was all square in the beginning of the second half (12-12) The last 15 minutes of the game saw a solid SJBC pack rule at the breakdowns which enabled the backs to breakthrough a weakened Rutlish defence.  After 2 disallowed trys by Big John and Tyrell, the boys could have thought a draw was the only outcome but their perseverance paid off in the end and a last minute try saw them walk away with a victory (17-12).  The year 7’s also played in their first fixture.  For the majority of the team it was their first time stepping ontoa rugby pitch! The game was comfortably won by Rutlish but great progress was made by the boys and they came away with a last minute try and a lot of happy faces! A team that has good promise for the future. Man of the matches go to Che  (year 10) and Inza  (year 7).
