The SJBC Library is open between 8.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday and is staffed by a Librarian.
All Year 7 and Year 8 students at SJBC are enrolled on the Accelerated Reader for Students programme, which monitors and manages independent reading practice while promoting reading for pleasure. A student reads a book, takes an online quiz, and gets immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to make progress with their reading skills.

We recommend that students complete a quiz within 48 hours of finishing the book and we would ideally like students to read at least 12 books across the school year to ensure they maintain and develop their reading skills.
