At St John Bosco, we are always looking for ways to extend our students’ learning. As a result, and as part of our school improvement programme, we are now using CENTURY - a ground-breaking online learning platform. This will replace the Show My Homework programme we were previously using.
What is CENTURY?
CENTURY provides our students with access to a variety of high-quality learning materials and assessments in English, mathematics and the sciences. It also will have regular revision materials/homework for all subjects to help students to prepare for their fortnightly tests.
For English, Math and Science, CENTURY makes personalised learning recommendations based on students’ strengths and areas for improvement, so that our students always know the best topics to study next. CENTURY supports our students and staff by personalising learning and assisting staff with planning, marking and monitoring progress.
Access details
Students are able to access the service at anytime and anywhere. It is available to them in school and also at home. All they need to do is visit the CENTURY Tech website and enter their usual school email log on and school computer password.
Guardian Portal
One of the many benefits of CENTURY, is the Guardian Portal feature. The portal provides parents and guardians access into CENTURY, so you can see what homework your child has been set, when it’s due and how they’ve performed. You will receive an email invitation to the Guardian Portal within the next fortnight to the email address you provided to school; if you do not receive this by half term please email ASharif@sjbc.wandsworth.sch.uk
If you have any questions about CENTURY, please feel free to get in touch with our IT Technician, Mr Abdirazak Sharif ASharif@sjbc.wandsworth.sch.uk or alternatively you can email the CENTURY office at: info@century.tech.
Additionally, each child should read for at least 30 minutes a day. In Year 7 and 8, all students must regularly take book quizzes on Accelerated Reader, to make sure that they were reading it properly and that it was the right level for them.
