Yondr Phone Pouch System: Information Guide

At our school, we are dedicated to fostering a focused and engaging learning environment. To support this goal, we are introducing the Yondr phone pouch system, a proven solution implemented in over 3,000 schools across 18 countries. By creating a phone-free space, we aim to enhance teaching, learning, and social interactions among students.

Why Yondr?

While phones are undeniably useful, we have observed that students’ academic performance and social behaviour improve significantly when they are fully engaged with their peers and teachers. The Yondr system helps us create a positive educational atmosphere by limiting phone distractions during the school day.

Yondr’s recent survey of over 900 school partners highlighted key benefits of phone-free environments:

  • 65% of schools reported improved academic performance.

  • 72% observed better student behaviour.

  • 84% noted increased student engagement in the classroom.

  • 86% experienced positive impacts on student safety and wellness.

How the Yondr Program Works

  1. Daily Use: Each student will receive a personally assigned Yondr pouch upon arrival at school. They will secure their phone in the pouch and maintain possession of it throughout the day.
  2. Phone-Free Environment: The pouch remains locked and cannot be opened until the end of the school day. Students are responsible for keeping their pouches safe and secure.
  3. End-of-Day Unlocking: At dismissal, students will unlock their pouches and return them to the school.
