Emergency Closure Procedure

It is the school's policy to make every effort to remain open whenever possible in the event of adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances.  The decision to close the school, either before or during the school day will be made by the Headteacher.   This will only occur in the event that:

• An insufficient number of staff are able to come in to keep the school running safely
• Conditions on site are dangerous or pupil’s health and safety would be compromised by remaining open
• Conditions are considered to be, or are anticipated to become, to hazardous for pupils to travel to and from school

In the event of a decision to close the school:

• The closure will be recorded on the school website www.sjbc.wandsworth.sch.uk and twitter feed @SJBC_London
• Parents will be alerted by text message.
• An emergency phone number will be issued for parents to contact for further information.
